NFL Rookies Running Wild

Rookies are having quite a run so far in 2022. Literally.

New York Jets running back Breece Hall leads all rookies this season with 609 scrimmage yards (391 rushing, 218 receiving), while Houston Texan rookie running back Dameon Pierce ranks second in that category with 469 scrimmage yards (412 rushing, 57 receiving).

Pierce has totaled over 100 scrimmage yards and a touchdown in each of his past three games. With at least 100 scrimmage yards and a touchdown at Las Vegas on Sunday, he will become the fifth rookie since 2000 to record 100 scrimmage yards and a touchdown in four-or-more consecutive games, joining Alvin Kamara, Saquon Barkley, Odell Beckham and Kevin Jones, per the NFL.

And on the other side of the ball, Seattle Seahawks rookie cornerback Tariq Woolen ties for the league lead with four interceptions this season and has recorded an interception in each of the past four games. With an interception at the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Woolen will join Jairus Byrd in 2009 as the only rookies in the Super Bowl era to record an interception in five consecutive games.
