Tim Tebow’s Comeback Is Over In Jacksonville, NFL Career Finished

The Tim Tebow experiment in Jacksonville is over.

The former college star who dabbled in the league with little success as quarterback some 10 years ago tried to make a comeback as a tight end for the team where he lives and for the coach who he played for at Florida.

But after just one game, Urban Meyer had seen enough. The Jaguars released Tebow all but ending any hopes of a pro NFL return.

By letting him go on the very first cut day, first year coach Meyer also sent the message to Tebow (and other teams) that he was far, far, far away from playing in the NFL.

The 34-year-old Tebow has likely played his last snap. He could still be retained as a coach, but more likely will return to his ESPN gig on the SEC Network.
