Quarterback Developments
Jalon Daniels becomes the first starting quarterback from the University of Kansas to lead an NFL team to victory since Bobby Douglass in 1977, guiding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a win over the Dallas Cowboys. Following this performance, NFL teams now hold an 8-4 record when starting a backup quarterback this season.
Team News
In a notable performance, the Cowboys have made franchise history by allowing 375 or more total yards in each of their first five games of the season—a first in the team’s storied history. This defensive struggle has raised concerns about their ability to compete moving forward. In a separate incident during the game, cornerback Joey Porter Jr. was marked inactive due to an illness, reportedly leaving AT&T Stadium while being assisted by a staff member carrying a trash can after experiencing discomfort.
