Matthew Stafford Trying To Move Up Career Touchdown Passes List

  • by

Matthew Stafford continues his climb up the NFL’s all-time touchdown pass list. The Los Angeles Rams quarterback has thrown 417 career touchdown passes, leaving him just three shy of reaching the 420 mark. Stafford currently ranks 9th all-time in the Super Bowl Era, with only a handful of legends ahead of him — including Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Peyton Manning at the top of the list.

Stafford has been as prolific as ever this season, leading the NFL with 40 touchdown passes. He enters Week 17 coming off a narrow 38–37 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, a game in which he still delivered three passing touchdowns, pushing him to the doorstep of another historic milestone.

The opportunity to move up the leaderboard arrives on Monday night, when Stafford and the 11–4 Rams travel to face the Atlanta Falcons, who sit third in the NFC South. Los Angeles currently holds second place in the NFC West, and a strong performance from Stafford could be pivotal in shaping playoff seeding.

In addition to chasing 420 touchdown passes, Stafford is also just one touchdown away from tying Ben Roethlisberger (418) for 8th place all-time. One more big night under the lights could further cement Stafford’s legacy among the game’s greatest passers.
