Matthew Stafford Set To Become 9th To Reach 62,000 Career Passing Yards

Matthew Stafford continues to climb the NFL’s all-time passing charts, closing in on yet another milestone as he leads the Los Angeles Rams into Week 10. The veteran quarterback has thrown for 61,956 career passing yards, leaving him just 44 yards shy of the 62,000 mark — a feat only eight players in league history have achieved.

Stafford currently ranks ninth all-time in career passing yards during the Super Bowl era, trailing an elite group led by Tom Brady (89,214), Drew Brees (80,358), and Peyton Manning (71,940). He also sits within striking distance of Matt Ryan (62,792) and Philip Rivers (63,440) as he continues to move up one of football’s most exclusive leaderboards.

This season, Stafford has remained among the NFL’s most productive passers, ranking sixth overall with 2,147 yards through eight games. In his most recent outing, he threw for 281 yards in a commanding 34–10 win over the New Orleans Saints, helping the Rams extend their winning streak to three and maintain control of the NFC West.

The 6–2 Rams, currently first in the division, will look to stay hot when they travel north to face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. A strong performance from Stafford could not only push Los Angeles closer to playoff positioning but also elevate him into the 62,000-yard club, further cementing his place among the most prolific passers in NFL history.
