With wide receiver Kendall Hilton taking over at quarterbacking duties Sunday in a 31-3 loss to the New Orleans Saints, it’s not surprise the first-time signal-caller struggled against a top notch defense.
Hilton finished the day just 1-for-9 for 13 and a sack for a loss of one yard. So net passing yards when all was said and done was just 12!
Surprisingly, that’s the not lowest mark for the Broncos in the Super Bowl Era, or least since sacks starting to count in 1982.
So adding in sack yardage lost, the worst Broncos performance was John Elway’s debut September 4, 1983 in a loss to the Pittsburg Steelers during which he and Steve DeBerg combined to complete 5 passes for 49 yards, but the duo was sacked for 48 yards, thus a net of ONE!
