After a decent pre-season, the Jacksonville Jaguars announced that No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence will be their starting quarterback on Wednesday.
“Trevor’s going to be the starter Week 1 and he’ll start this week as well,” coach Urban Meyer said.
“I’m really excited for the opportunity; I’m grateful for it,” Lawrence said. “It doesn’t really change anything, though. We still have the same task in front of us. We’ve got to get a lot better individually, as a team, as an offense. It brings some clarity, which is nice, going forward. But it really doesn’t change much.”
Lawrence will make his debut on September 12 in Houston against the Texans.
The Jags still have Gardner Minshew on the team for now, but after a productive 2020 season, look for the 25-year-old to get moved soon.
Dolphins, Colts, Cowboys and Eagles all could be viable landing spots for Minshew. But what can the Jags get back?
