Last night during a 27-22 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Tom Brady set another record. But probably one he really doesn’t want or aspire to.<\/p>\n
Brady was sacked three times in defeat and those sacks made him the record holder in sacks in the Super Bowl Era with 556.<\/p>\n
In the second quarter Ravens linebacker Justin Houston did the honor sacking Brady for 554 and then on the very next play after a timeout, he got Brady again this time given the superstar quarterback the record all to himself at 555.<\/p>\n
“I think any time you can put that under your belt against Tom Brady, I think that’s a plus, so I’ll take it,” Houston said after, acknowledging he was unaware of the record at the time.<\/p>\n
Later in the 4th quarter Brady was sacked again.<\/p>\n
Of course setting the mark also indicates longevity and the 45-year-old Brady has that. <\/p>\n
Comparatively, Brady is sacked about 1.7 times per game while Ben Roethlisberger, who Brady just passed, is 2.2\/game.<\/p>\n
No. 3 Aaron Rodgers is even higher at 2.3 times sacked per game. If there’s someone who could pass Brady it could be Rogers. If Brady retires and Rogers plays 2-3 more seasons with 30\/sacks per year, he could one day get the mark.<\/p>\n
