Who would have believed at the start of the season that the best conference through the first five weeks of the season would be the NFC East.<\/p>\n
The Philadelphia Eagles were early picks to win the division and be a strong Super Bowl contender. So while they are on top, it’s not a huge surprise they are undefeated at 5-0.<\/p>\n
The Dallas Cowboys always have hype but that quickly faded when Dak Prescott went out. However, the Cowboys are 4-1 and undefeated with Cooper Rush at the helm.<\/p>\n
The other big surprise is the rise of the New York Giants who just upset the Green Bay Packers in London on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The Giants who have also won four straight were afterthoughts at the start of the season, but now have wins over both 2021 playoff No. 1 seeds (Titans the other with the Packers).<\/p>\n
And the Washington Commanders aren’t awful. They did beat the Jacksonville Jaguars to open the season and just edged the Chicago Bears in a forgettable Thursday night tilt, but the team is somewhat respectable.<\/p>\n
This Sunday, a lot will be determined with a huge Sunday night matchup between the Eagles and the Cowboys.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
