After a decent pre-season, the Jacksonville Jaguars announced<\/a> that No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence will be their starting quarterback on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

“Trevor’s going to be the starter Week 1 and he’ll start this week as well,” coach Urban Meyer said.<\/p>\n

“I’m really excited for the opportunity; I’m grateful for it,” Lawrence said. “It doesn’t really change anything, though. We still have the same task in front of us. We’ve got to get a lot better individually, as a team, as an offense. It brings some clarity, which is nice, going forward. But it really doesn’t change much.”<\/p>\n

Lawrence will make his debut on September 12 in Houston against the Texans.<\/p>\n

The Jags still have Gardner Minshew on the team for now, but after a productive 2020 season, look for the 25-year-old to get moved soon.<\/p>\n
