Last year, the NFL schedule would routinely get jumbled up due to COVID positive players.<\/p>\n
Games would move from Sunday to Tuesday or even Wednesday to avoid a forfeit.<\/p>\n
That’s not happening this year. Teams can and will be forfeited if a postponement cannot be rescheduled.<\/p>\n
“As we learned last year, we can play a full season if we maintain a firm commitment to adhering to our health and safety protocols and to making needed adjustments in response to changing conditions,” Goodell said.<\/p>\n
“These operating principles are designed to allow us to play a full season in a safe and responsible way and address possible competitive or financial issues fairly.”<\/p>\n
In the memo, it was stated that more than 75% of players are in the process of being vaccinated. Also, more than half the teams in the league have vaccination rates greater than 80% of their players.<\/p>\n
